Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) is about to launch a new Pay TV channel in Latin America on June 26: TNT Novelas. According to information obtained by TAVI Latam, the new channel is to replace TBS, which will be removed from the list of channels offered by the company in the region.
After having been disclosed in the first place by means of a communication sent by Chilean operator Telsur (GTD) to its subscribers last week, the news was officially announced by Warner Bros. Discovery through a press release on May 8.
According to information provided by WBD, “the initiative is aimed at reaching new audiences by offering them relevant formats that meet Latin American consumers’ prevailing preferences and is part of an expansion and diversification process the company has embarked on.”
“A format that is enjoying a particular moment of success will now be given its own space, which has been specially created for people who love this type of content,” noted Vera Buzanello, an executive at Warner Bros. Discovery.
TNT Novelas will offer “success titles followed by millions of viewers throughout the world,” the company’s press release reads. So far only two soap operas to be included in the lineup have been announced: ¿Será que es Amor? and Doctor Milagro.
