The US company Roku has announced it has entered into agreements with seven companies to manufacture smart TVs with its Roku TV platform in Mexico. The only existing Roku partners in Mexico are TCL and Hisense. The new list will include InFocus, JVC, Polaroid, Philips, Sanyo, Westinghouse and Walmart’s ATVIO. Mexico is the only country in the region where Roku TV is present.

The new brand partners will start selling the new Roku TV models during 2020, but no definite date has been given yet. The news was disclosed at a press event within the framework of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2020, now underway in Las Vegas, U.S.A., (from January 7 thru January 10), attended by Roku International Division VicePresident Arthur van Rest and Roku Business Development Director Tom McFarland.

“Roku’s licence program makes it possible for companies to manufacture high-quality smart TVs easily and at competitive prices. Roku’s operating system provides automatic software updates, as well as new functions and streaming channels,” according to the company’s blog.
