The South Korean technology company is to launch its streaming app for smart TVs in the Brazilian market. The news was released by Samsung Brasil Associate Product Director for TV and Audio Erico Traldi during the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), held in Las Vegas, U.S.A., from January 7 thru January 10, 2020.
Samsung TV Plus is a free ad-supported video service including more than 100 channels. It was launched in 2015 in some Asian markets and later in the United States and several European countries. The release date in Brazil has not been disclosed yet.
According to some Brazilian media, Samsung has already contacted several content producing companies, such as multimedia group Globo, to invite them to join this project. TV Plus offers live channels and on-demand thematic channels. Samsung’s executives explained that “the aim is to offer further options to production partners in order that Samsung TV sets may provide access to various channels.”
