Twitch, the video game streaming platform owned by Amazon, plans to expand its content by introducing original shows of various genres. So far, the platform’s content has been limited to gaming. According to the U.S. Bloomberg Media Group, the website is developing game shows, as well as dating, sports, music and talk shows.
Twitch executives intend to allocate between USD 50,000 and USD 250,000 a week to new genres. The shows will be live and interactive, airing two to three times a week and comprising four to ten hours of programming.
No official announcement has been made by Twitch up to now. The information source is an internal document drafted by the company, which could be accessed by Bloomberg.
