The Argentine Cable Television Association (ATVC) gave awards for the best productions in the Argentine Pay TV industry at its 27th award ceremony, held on the night of December 4. “These awards make it possible for us to foster and stimulate the Argentine Cable TV industry,” highlighted ATVC president Walter Burzaco in his opening speech.
“We reach 1200 towns and cities, where we have the latest technology networks. Content is produced for 600 local and regional channels, which assures democratization and pluralism,” he added.
The ceremony was held at Tango Porteño Theatre in Buenos Aires City. The Association gave a total of 70 awards, which were divided into six categories (according to the population of the towns and cities where the programs can be viewed) and twelve genres, namely Agriculture, Science, Technology and the Environment, Culture, Sports, Documentaries, Education, Children, General Interest, Music, Opinion Journalism, News Reporting and Promotional TV. The winner of the Grand Jury Award was Encuentro de Campeones, broadcast by DirecTV Sports channel. The ceremony was hosted by Grabriela Sobrado and Tomás Dente and was broadcast live on the Red Intercable network and Ciudad Magazine channel.
