Netflix introduces a new format: short-form content. In addition, Netflix’s debut will mark the first time streaming channel Olga has collaborated with an SVOD OTT. Netflix has announced that it will “very soon” release Carísima, an original series whose episodes will last only ten minutes. The new series will feature Caro Pardíaco, a character portrayed by actor and musician Julián Kartun.
Netflix’s entry into the short-form segment is proof of the growing trend towards the consumption of this type of content. Although for most short-form videos the vertical format has been used, Carísima will adopt the traditional horizontal format.
Caro Pardíaco was born as a humorous character with Cualca, a series of sketches shown on Free-To-Air TV and open streaming platforms such as YouTube and Vimeo. Later, the success achieved by the character allowed it to acquire its own identity and the creation of content continued on social media and as part of other TV shows. It was in 2024 that it reached a new peak in popularity, when it featured a weekly show on Olga.
Carísima, which will consist of ten chapters, will be produced by Netflix in collaboration with Labhouse and Olga.
The cast led by Kartun will also include Alex Pelao, Iara Portillo, Julián Doregger, Anita B Queen, Evitta Luna, Darío Sztajnszrajber, Gastón Pauls, Julián Lucero, Charo López and Malena Pichot.
