Satellite TV operator DirecTV ended the first quarter of the current year with 13.2 million users in Latin America, according to financial reports recently published by AT&T. This figure shows a 0.86% decline (114,000 users) in comparison with Q4 2019.
Once again the DTH operator’s sub count is in decline. In fact, by the end of last year it had managed to recover a positive trend after three consecutive quarters in decline. DirecTV sub count in the region dropped by 507,000 users in 2019.
AT&T added that DirecTV’s revenue amounted to USD 887 million in Q1 2020.
These figures include DirecTV operations in Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela, Aruba, Curaçao, Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados and Brazil (in Brazil it operates under Sky brand). The Mexican operation is not included, since Televisa is the majority stockholder in Sky Mexico.
