Roku has launched two new promotions in Latin America, available to people who buy one of its devices In Mexico, Chile, Colombia and Peru, the benefit includes streaming Pay TV service DirecTV Go (AT&T) and HBO premium package for one month free of charge. In Brazil, the company offers free subscription to OTT Globoplay (Globo) for three months. The promotion is available to people provided they buy a Roku streaming device or a Smart TV with a built-in Roku TV platform.

This proposal adds to a number of promotions offering free OTT subscription to those who purchase products or sign up for telecommunications services in the Latin American market. Roku had previously used this strategy by offering HBO Go for some months free of charge, as well as free Cinépolis Klic rentals. It is possible to mention similar agreements between other companies and other streaming platforms such as Disney+ and Amazon Prime Video.

Roku – DirecTV Go promotion started in late October and ends on January 10, 2021, whereas Roku – Globoplay promotion was launched in early November and will run through January 20, 2021.
