Investment management company Linzor Capital Partners has announced it has reached an agreement to acquire 100% of Win (Wi-Net Telecom), a Peruvian telecommunications operator owned by ON Group. The operator currently offers Internet, fixed phone and Pay TV services, its customer base amounts to 527,000 and its FTTH (Fiber To The Home) network has reached 3 million homes passed.
This is not Linzor’s first experience in the industry. In 2019, it acquired Chilean operator Mundo Telecomunicaciones. According to information provided by Linzor, when it sold its entire stake in Mundo to investment management company Digital Bridge two years later, in 2021, Mundo had tripled its fiber-optic network and had consolidated its position as one of the leading home Internet providers in Chile.
“Win is an excellent platform to expand fixed home services in Peru and we are enthusiastic about the growth potential of this investment,” asserted Matías Gutiérrez, the partner of Linzor who managed the transaction. According to Linzor, Peru has one of the lowest broadband penetration rates in the region, which offers significant opportunities for growth.
It has been reported that a consortium of five of the most important banks in Peru will finance the acquisition but the amount has not been disclosed so far. The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, such as approval by Peruvian regulatory agencies.
