Netflix is to livestream Mexico’s amateur boxing event Supernova Strikers: Genesis worldwide at no additional cost. The hit marks the streaming giant’s debut as far as livestreaming of events organized in Latin American countries goes. The show is set to take place at Arena CDMX, Mexico City, on Sunday, April 26.
Supernova follows the trend initiated by Spanish streamer Ibai Llanos with his event La Velada del Año, featuring celebrities who step into the ring to compete in boxing matches. In Mexico, it was TV producer Miguel Ángel Fox who organized the first event of this kind. Argentina (Párense de Manos) and Ecuador (Los Kiños del Año) are other Latin American countries where similar events have been held.
The Mexican version is to hold its second edition this year. In 2025, the live stream was available at no additional cost through the event’s official channels on Youtube, Twitch, Facebook and TikTok, as well as on sports OTT platform DAZN. According to the organizers’ estimations, the first edition totalled 11 million unique viewers, if all the above-mentioned platforms are added up.
Supernova 2026 edition will be divided into two parts. The initial stage, which will include the first fights, will be livestreamed only through the event’s official channels on YouTube, Twitch, Facebook and TikTok. The live stream of the second stage, including the rest of the matches, will be available only on Netflix.
The fights will be the following: Victor Ordoñez vs. Guillermo Peña, Alana Flores vs. Florencia Vigna, Lupita Villalobos vs. Kim Shantal, Mario Bautista vs. Aarón Mercury, Abraham Flores vs. José Broianigo and Milica vs. Ari Geli. In addition, the event will feature musical performances by several artists: Ozuna, Carín León and Óscar Maydon.
