Paramount+ (Paramount) has announced a last-minute agreement that will make it possible for the streaming service to add to its catalog DSports channels, owned by Pay TV operator DirecTV, with the purpose of offering all the FIFA World Cup 2026 matches live. The agreement will be effective for Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Peru, Colombia and Ecuador.

Up to now, the only option available for the public to view all the World Cup games in the above-mentioned countries was DirecTV, through its traditional Satellite TV service or its OTT DGo. Thanks to the agreement recently entered into, access to all the World Cup matches is now considerably broader, since in addition to Paramount OTT’s direct subscribers, there are several telecommunications operators (some of which are top-tier) that offer a Paramount+ membership at no additional cost.

“FIFA World Cup 2026 will mark a turning point in the history of soccer and DSports is up to the challenge. We will broadcast all 104 matches, with over 900 hours of live programming, special correspondents in the three host countries and minute-to-minute coverage of all the national teams, with special focus on Colombia, Ecuador, Argentina and Uruguay (Editor’s Note: the four countries included in the agreement that will take part in the tournament). We will offer a thorough journalistic coverage in line with our level of deployment in previous World Cups over the last twenty years,” remarked DSports Director Hernán Bidegain.

The agreement, which will come into force on June 1, will go far beyond the World Cup. In a press release, the companies explained the following: “As part of the new multi-year distribution agreement, Paramount+ subscribers in the above-mentioned countries will also get access to DSports’ extensive live sports content; they will enjoy top-level soccer throughout the year, including coverage of the Spanish league, the Sudamericana Cup and many other important sports events across multiple disciplines.”
