A new Chilean company called Screen Capital is launching a USD 20 million investment fund aimed at the production of Spanish-language television series and movies. The new firm is to begin operating in March 2020. It will become the first Chilean private investment fund specialized in the audiovisual industry, according to US website Variety.
The founders of this new company are Joyce Zylberberg (former Director of government agency Film Commission Chile and former Secretary of Chile’s Audiovisual Development Fund) and Tatiana Emden (former member of Chile’s Audiovisual Development Fund) and its members include Edgar Spielmann (former VP and COO of Fox Networks Latin America, former Head of Programming at VTR and former Head of Strategy and Business Development at Chile’s Canal 13).
Screen Capital is based in Santiago, Chile, and has some members and collaborators in Argentina, the United States and the Dominican Republic. The new firm is backed by Corfo (Production Promotion Entity), a government agency furthering a film incentive policy.
